Carob is often thought of as a substitute for chocolate, but for those who are educated about it’s nutritional profile it is an amazing complementary food to be used with raw chocolate, due to it’s highly usable calcium content which balances out the high magnesium content of raw cacao.
It is also a great sweetener and allows one to avoid a lot of the so called healthy sweeteners like agave and coconut palm sugar. Raw carob powder tasted significantly different to the standard product found in health stores, some would say distinctly sweeter.
Carob contains trace minerals like iron, manganese, chromium, copper and nickel. It also contains, niacin, vitamin A, vitamin B2, calcium, magnesium and potassium.
