FAQs

If someone has food sensitivities, can they consume the multivitamins?
Because MegaFood’s products contain whole food, there is a potential for those with food allergies to have sensitivities to their products. However, please note that the majority of their products are free from most common allergens: wheat, corn, gluten, dairy, and soy.

Vitamins upset my stomach; will I have a problem digesting MegaFood’s vitamins and minerals?
MegaFood’s supplements are crafted with whole foods. MegaFood uses a range of colorful whole foods rich in natural enzymes including oranges, carrots, brown rice, nutritional yeast, broccoli, blueberries and cranberries. Not only are these foods gentle on the stomach, but the natural process of digestion liberates the whole food nutrients, which are in the ideal form to be efficiently utilized by the body.

Is there any yeast in the products?
MegaFood uses Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a nutritional yeast, to deliver a variety of their FoodState Nutrients.

Are all of the products gluten, dairy and soy free?
All of their products are tested and verified to be free of gluten, in addition to dairy and soy.

Certifications

Gluten Free
MegaFood uses the FDA-approved R5 ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay) method to test for gliadin, one of the main proteins in the gluten molecule. They test high-risk raw materials and the final products. MegaFood products were the first dietary supplements to have been certified gluten free by NSF. Certified Gluten Free products must test at 20ppm or less. They have set their gluten free standards to comply to 10ppm or less. Their facility is open to inspections and blind product tests by NSF.
Vegan
MegaFood’s Vegan collection is certified by Vegan Action, and was formulated specifically to support and supplement common nutritional gaps including B12, iron and trace minerals. They also choose not to add in standard potencies of nutrients that are otherwise provided with a plant-based diet such as beta-carotene, vitamin C and K.
ISO Certified
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a voluntary body that sets standards for quality assurance. Standards are based on an international consensus on what makes for good quality assurance practices. This means their on-the-premises laboratory complies with the highest internationally recognized criteria for operating standards and testing procedures.

Good Manufacturing Practices are guidelines that provide a system of processes, procedures, and documentation to assure the product produced has the identity, strength, composition, quality and purity that it is represented to possess.
Kosher
To uphold their commitment to purity and quality, MegaFood has become one of the first whole food supplement product lines certified kosher by OK Kosher Certification, the most respected symbol of kosher approval worldwide.
Dairy Free
All products with this seal are tested to contain 5ppm of dairy or less.
Soy Free
All products with this symbol are guaranteed to contain 5ppm of soy protein or less.
Herbicide and Pesticide Free
MegaFood tests all deliveries rigorously for traces of herbicides or pesticides. If they find any, they will send it back. They only use the best.
Farm Fresh
MegaFood gets their food from farmers they know, grown fresh and organic wherever possible on farms that they’ve visited.
Vegetarian
Following a plant-based diet is a compassionate and a sustainable way of living. All of MegaFood’s supplements are vegetarian, containing fresh-from-the-farm goodness.
