Maca root powder (gelatinized)


Maca is a root that looks a little like a turnip. It grows in the mountains of Peru in highly variable conditions, including a wide temperature range, intense sunlight and high winds. Maca has been used by the inhabitants of Peru for thousands of years to enable them to deal with the challenging environment there. It goes well with cacao. It is an emulsifier and helps blend fats and waters smoothly so is a great flavour enhancer in drinks and elixirs and useful ingredient in raw recipes.



20g is the recommended amount to each day but it is best to start slowly and build up, to avoid a sudden detoxifying reaction.

Gelatinized maca has the starch extracted so that it is easier to digest and absorb.
